This section will try and answer some of your questions about the Ticket HQ service, if you can’t find an answer to your question please contact us and we will do our upmost to help you.

What do I need to use the service?

All you need to use the Ticket HQ service is a computer, web browser and iOS device (iPhone / iPod Touch). You will need access to the iTunes Application store either through your iOS device or iTunes on your computer. You can manage your events, customers & tickets through the Ticket HQ control panel. Validation of eTickets at your event is done through your iOS device, please note that only iOS devices with a camera are able to verify eTickets as the barcode on the eTicket needs to be read through the camera.

Do I need any specialist equipment?

No, the Ticket HQ service is designed to work through the camera found of iOS devices. There is no requirement for any special barcode reading hardware.

Can I use more than one device at an event?

Yes, you can use more than one device, however you need to ensure that all devices are connected to the Internet so that they can synchronise with the Ticket HQ service and ensure that all used eTickets are shared with each of the devices

Do you provide the ability to sell tickets?

No, presently we do not provide any method for selling tickets, we are simply involved in the process of eTickets, however this is something that we may look at in the future.

How are your eTickets secure?

Our eTickets are secure because each eTicket created is a unique and random series of numbers and letters that are non-sequential, this is then linked to the customer, event, event date and event time through the Ticket HQ service database. This database is then transferred to your iOS device when you synchronise with the service. The eTicket code is meaningless without the database behind it.

It’s important to realise that an eTicket sent out can be duplicated by a customer, however only one eTicket can be used at an event so on the ocaision where an eTicket has been duplicated it will only permit one entry. Furthermore additional eTickets can not be created by knowing an existing ticket number as they are completely random.

Can I revoke or delete an eTicket?

Yes, you can revoke an eTicket at any time and for any reason, however you can not delete an eTicket from the system. Once a eTicket is created it’s counted as a used eTicket credit, which are non-refundable.

Is it true that I can integrate my web site?

Yes, you can integrate your web site into Ticket HQ. We provide what’s known as an API which allows your web site to make calls to our service and ask it to perform specific actions. For example you may have a control panel on your web site that allows you to add events, when this occurs your web site can call the Ticket HQ service an allow it to create the event at the same time. The same is true when a customer purchases a ticket for your event, when the purchase is finalised your web site can call the Ticket HQ service and request a eTicket be sent to the customer.
